Mental and Behavioral Health Benefits for National Benefit Fund Members
If you or a family member needs help with mental health, alcohol or substance abuse issues, you have access to mental health counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and other mental health care providers in our network or through Teladoc. You may find a provider by visiting findadoc.1199SEIUBenefits.org. If you need assistance finding a provider, Benefit Fund social workers and professional staff will help you and your family find the treatment programs you need and coordinate your care with your doctors. Your behavioral and mental health benefit covers you for talk therapy in person, by phone or online through a participating provider or Teladoc* and requires no referral or prior authorization.
*The Teladoc benefit is only for eligible adults. Children in need of behavioral health services should still be referred to a specialist by your primary care doctor.

Keeping Your Coverage
COBRA Continuation Coverage
COBRA allows you to extend your health benefits when your Benefit Fund coverage ends due to a “qualifying event.”
Disability
This benefit provides a financial cushion if you are temporarily unable to work due to non-work-related accidents, injury or illness.
Paid Family Leave
New York State’s Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefit is administered at no cost to NBF members.
Workers' Compensation
Provided through your employer, this benefit provides health and wage benefits if you are injured or become ill at work.
